CONDITIONS WE TREAT
Conservative, drug-free back pain relief in Mount Pleasant, SC.
Over 65 million Americans struggle with chronic back pain, and many still rely on drugs or risky surgery to manage it. At Mount Pleasant Neck & Back Center, we understand how debilitating back pain can be - and Dr. Randy knows there's a better way. Chiropractic care is a conservative, drug-free treatment that can relieve your pain. With proactive, preventative care, we can safely manage your current pain and reduce the risk of future back problems.
Improperly treated accident injuries, sports injuries, and even poor posture can lead to a herniated or bulging disc and back pain. The spinal cord is protected by vertebrae with flexible, shock-absorbing discs between them — when one or more of those discs falls out of alignment, pain follows.

A subluxation is a bone out of place that puts pressure on a nerve and causes problems.
Medication is commonly used for back pain, but drugs work by dulling the brain's ability to sense pain signals - so as soon as they wear off, the pain returns. Chiropractic care is different. Spinal adjustments correct the underlying mechanical misalignment causing your pain and reduce nerve compression for long-term relief.
Alongside hands-on adjustments, we may use other techniques as needed: hot and cold therapy, NMR (neuromuscular re-education), physiotherapy modalities, corrective exercises, and non-surgical spinal decompression.
Spinal decompression gently stretches the spine, taking pressure off the spinal discs and relieving pressure on the nerves. It creates negative pressure within the disc - a 'vacuum effect' - that can draw a bulging or herniated disc back within the spinal column and away from nerve tissue, relieving symptoms like back pain, numbness, and tingling.
We use advanced diagnostic exams to pinpoint the exact spinal misalignment triggering your pain, then work closely with you to build a custom treatment plan. We'll also help you reduce the causes of back pain through simple lifestyle changes.
If you sleep on your side, a pillow between your legs supports the spine and reduces lower-back tension.
Adjust your chair height and set your screen at eye level so you're not straining your shoulders or leaning your head forward.
We may teach you targeted exercises to better support spinal health. Small changes add up to a big improvement in quality of life.
